Lifetime Map Update

Does anyone know of a way to update their maps using the lifetime upgrade, that doesn't take a lifetime? Seriously, over 24 hours to download a map update and you can no longer get the entire US onto one device (nuvi 1390) without buying an SD card? If I had known it was going to take longer to download the update than the entire duration of my business trip I would have started the download sooner.

Is it a server problem with Garmin? I can download movies of the same size or larger from iTunes in about an hour. Whazzup guys? Time for a tech refresh for your existing customers.

Total dissatisfaction. I'll use my iPhone with its flaws for navigation this trip.

I just finished my first lifetime upgrade,, started at at 0900 this morning and took til now, 1900 to complete,, large files and perhaps nota super fast internet connection,,,, but still, having the CD would have been quicker,,, and now I have to do this 4 times a year until my device can no longer accept the updates because the memory is full,,, lifetime of what I ask?????

As for download time you must have a very slow connection, mine completes within 2 hours.
