I apologize if this has already been suggested, I did do a search and combed the threads but didn't see anything similar.
My request is the ability for a user to add a custom tag to an activity that can later be searched on, or categorized by. For example, when adding a tag for an activity, a user can type a word or two like "New Balance 890v2" to track a shoe or "rain" to note that it was raining that day. This is similar to the tag feature that this forum has, but with a slightly different implementation. I think the ideal way to have this implemented would be to have the ability to add the tag similar to how you would add a new course. You define the tag outside of any activities. Then a drop-down menu is made available on the analyze page, much like the drop down to select "street running" or a course you created. This way, if someone is tracking a shoe they can select multiple activities at once when looking at the "analyze page" then in a column labeled "custom tag" or something along those lines, they can select the custom tag they created that lists the shoe brand/model they used for that run. Or, if they are doing something like tracking weather, they can just edit that one activity. In my opinion, the best part about the custom tag is it allows a user to track whatever they want. Shoes, weather, as I used as an example earlier, but also if they ran if their dog, if they kissed their spouse before running, or even what they ate afterwards. It would be nice if the totals in each category (well, the ones with numbers) could be totaled, like total miles, but until then a user can export to CSV then use Excel or a similar program to create a total for a column, such as distance.
Hopefully this makes sense, any feedback from the members here is appreciated and I can edit my post to hopefully make more sense.
