Can my GPS Garmin50LM let me drive on express highway lanes ?

I got my GPS Garmin50LM recently and still trying to learn how to use it.
I can't figure out how to set it so that it stops telling me to get off the express highway lanes and drive on the collectors lanes on every exit from the express. When I choose to go to a destination and drive on a highway with express and collectors the GPS wants me to drive all the time only on the collectors and if I go on the express it is very annoying repeating to get out on every exit. So, I'm getting used to ignoring it and then I may miss my real exit.

I will greatly appreciate your help.
  • Check your avoidances ... maybe you have 'Avoid highways' or similar selected
  • Thank you for replying SUSSAMB,
All avoidances are off and on top of that there are not such options in the avoidances. There is only Highways option but not Express or Collectors. The GPS does understand what is express or collectors and shows the appropriate label when I'm on the highway. The problem is it tells me to go on the collectors on every exit which makes the device useless for now and I'm hoping that there is a way to make it say only the exit that goes to the destination.
If I remember correctly, the first time when I set it to go to a destination using the highway it asked me if I want to take the express or collectors and I chose collectors because for that trip the collectors were better. But I don't see that option any more and I wonder if it was some global settings that is not limited to the first trip only. I searched the manual for "express" and "collectors" keywords but there is no such words in the manual.

I wonder if there are other Garmin users driving on highways with express and collectors and if they have the same problem.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
