Sync with My Fitness Pal

Would it be possible to add a facility to link accounts and enable you to sync activities with MyFitnessPal automatically?

seems there is some issue for me at least. I fill my meals in MyFitnessPal but Connect shows data way-off

Mine too, from the minute I saw that there was integration between the 2 programs. I get a blank box telling me if I want to see my food, I should LOG it with MFP. I had all my meals logged for today so not sure what the issue is with Garmin Connect.

When I click the arrow to display things and pick today's date, it shows me consuming 626 but on MFP I'm seeing 1128 consumed and 712 remaining. Garmin shows 1100 remaining. I've connected/disconnected many times, problem persists. Assuming its on Garmins side not MFP. Anyone have an answers how I can get the daily calories to show finally?
  • I have a FR310XT and Vivofit. I notice that the MFP widget takes into account the Vivofit calories (steps), but not the FR activities.
I need to add my FR activities like running, biking, etc. into MFP and then they are reflected in the GC widget.
Is this normal behaviour or am I doing something wrong?

Still I like the MFP app because it gives a better view on what you're eating, divided in caloties, proteins, fat, etc...

Here is what I found on MyFitnessPal forums:

    Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to post your question and my apologies for any issues.
Currently the Garmin and MyFitnessPal integration only supports the Vívofit and Forerunner15 models.
These devices are considered all-day activity trackers and send different data to MyFitnessPal then single exercise tracking devices like the 810.
We are working with Garmin to bring support for all devices, but I do not have a timeframe for when that will go live.
We appreciate your understanding and my apologies for the inconvenience.

    Cheers,
    Scott

I'm pretty surprised that Garmin Connect is about the last tracker that does not integrate with MFP. Odd that the free sites that sell no hardware can do it so easily.

Come on Garmin. Good HW but you're struggling with SW.
  • Looking at the data I think what's wrong. I got custom meal names in MFP and it seems GC is only taking last meal and not all meals from whole day. Please fix! :-)

Please add sync capabilities to MFP to save me having to also use mapmyride or strava!!!

Whilst I like my Garmin device, the Garmin Connect software is appalling. Three installs, device fails to be recognised each time, no link to MFP and no help or guides to say how to do it (although it made the connection on the second install which then disappeared!!). I just use the free version of Strava - it just works.

It appears the integration is now available for the FR220, but so far I am also seeing calorie count issues.

How did you get it to work? Mine is still not syncing.

I just tried it for the first time last week and it worked right away . I just opened the Garmin Connect daskboard (modern version) and there was a big box that said click here to sync with MyFittnesPal. I did, put in my MFP credentials and it started to sync right away (both directions). See attached screen shot
