Nuvi 1390 frozen

Hi all

I have a Garmin Nuvi 1360, I have read a few other threads with similar issues but not found a resolution for my issue

When I switch the device on, it gets stuck on the 'loading maps" screen

I have tried connecting to my PC powering on while holding the top left of the screen, when I go this the green bar appears on the screen, but stops around the G on the Garmin

The PC detects the device connected, but i can't access it

I wasn't trying to update or anything, it was just like this one day when i switched it on

any ideas would be great

The bad news (I guess) is that this is often the sign of a corrupted file. Without getting into the realms of 'hacking' if you have a micro sd card installed remove it to see if it will boot correctly (this eliminates any corrupt file on the card if fitted). With no sd card installed have you recently (and before the problem occurred) downloaded anything to your nuvi, waypoint, map, POIs etc? If so that is likely to be the problem.

There are ways to force your nuvi into pre-boot mode so that you can correct possible errors but that's beyond the remit of this forum. You could try googling for 'rgn cure'.

Failing all of that your best bet may be to contact Garmin Support.
