Can't upload gpx file from MapMyRun

Hello,

My garmin 610 was low on batteries before my 12 mile run, so I used my MapMyRun app on my iPhone. After running, I downloaded the gpx file to my computer, clicked "upload" in garmin connect, selected the file, and clicked upload. However I get the "Some activities could not be uploaded" message.

The headed of the gpx file appears as follows:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<gpx version="1.1" creator="MapMyFitness.com" xmlns:xsi="www.w3.org/.../XMLSchema-instance"

xmlns="www.topografix.com/.../1" xsi:schemaLocation="www.topografix.com/.../1 www.topografix.com/.../gpx.xsd">....

Does this appear correct? I'd really appreciate some help getting this to upload. Thanks! :)

My guess, and it is only that, is that Garmin Connect only accepts GPX files created by Garmin products.

You can probably fix this by replacing the header (as per your post) in the GPX file with one created by a Garmin device.

I'm pretty sure they're supposed to accept other sources as long as they're in GPX...but I'll give that a shot. Thanks.

The GPX files from mapmyrun does not contain time stamps for the locations. Only latitude and longitude.

After some testing, it seems like Garmin Connect require <time> tags.
