Some activities could not be created.

Attempts to manually upload tracks in GPX or TCX format result in "Some activities could not be created." Uploading via Basecamp gets no response. I have created the files with Basecamp, MacGPSPro or just a text editor. I have tried with multiple browsers (Safari, FireFox, Chrome) and computers. Searches through this forum and the internet have not revealed a solution.

Are others having similar problems manually uploading tracks? Is there a limit on how may tracks can be manually uploaded? Any ideas on how to tweak the file, reset connect.garmin.com, or get Garmin to resolve this issue.

Thank you!

Having the same problem, it seems like pot luck what courses get uploaded and what don't. I'm trying courses from multiple sources: MapMyRide and http://www.cyclefitevents.com/tour-of-the-chilterns.php neither work.

I get the error message "some activities could not be created" as per screenshot, any advice?

You can't upload tracks that don't have timestamps.
If you draw a track in BaseCamp or MapMyRun etc, then export as a GPX file, it won't have any timestamps.

    How to timestamp a course?

Thanks Craig, how do I "timestamp" a course created outside of garmin connect?

Garmin really need to simplify the whole process, "Some activities could not be created" is pretty useless information.

You could try using GPSBabel with the 'faketime' option, see the instructions at the bottom of this page: http://www.gpsbabel.org/htmldoc-development/filter_track.html

I cant believe this is this hard. I just quit using Garmin connect entirely. I cant upload the Tour de Cure tcx file, and it has timestamps. Why do I need to figure this out?? Why isnt the error message give some intelligent response to not allowing the file to be uploaded. Its easier to use another program.

I am having the same problem, bought my Edge 810 yesterday so i could upload a course to Garmin Connect and use live tracking, but this appears to be the only way to get a file to work on live tracking, and its not working.

I hope someone posts a solution soon!
