HELP... I dont understand BaseCamp!!!

Hey folks I hate to be so stupid but I just don't understand BaseCamp! I looked at the video's and they look so simple but it's not working for me. OK here's the problem I'm having, when I create a route down a road, turn down another road so on and so forth all BaseCamp does is draw a straight line from point to point not following the roads. I have it set for automotive if that makes a difference. We ride motorcycles and what I'm trying to do is create a route and then download to my GPS but I'm to the point I hate BaseCamp.:mad:

You need a map that supports "auto routing".
Your gps might have such a map in it.
Plug your gps in and open BaseCamp.
Your gps will show up on the left under "Devices".
Any maps in your gps or Memory Card will also show on the left.
Go up top to the box showing maps and use the pull down to select the map shown in your gps.
The map you select will show on the right and you can try making a route and see if it "auto routes" between the points you select.
If it works then name your route (keep it short) and send it to your gps.
