MONTANA 650T
I have several areas that I look at, saving tracks waypoints and photos along the way. I have a separate SD card for each area and the card has my aerials and custom maps on it. When I go to a different area I slip in the SD for that area. But, if I don't manage my gpx files from my computer and hide them in folders on the computer and on a TEMP storage area on the SD I begin to build up an unmanageable number of gpx files. I would like for my Montana to operate from the SD card for gpx files. That way I would be dealing only with the gpx files from the area represented by the installed card.
This morning I moved my GPX folder and subs from the GARMIN folder on internal to the GARMIN folder I have on the SD. When I cranked up I could read the waypoints that were now on my SD card but the device wrote a new GPX and CURRENT folder on the device. I will be going to the field soon and I think I will find that it is still writing to the GPX folder on the root. Is there a way to make it operate only off the GPX folder in my SD card or would that take a firmware/software re-do? Thanks
