ecoRoute HD shows inaccurate fuel consumption

Hi - I'm using an ecoRoute HD in my car and all the displays/gauges are working however, the fuel consumption is about double the mpg I'm actually getting. Have other people seen similar accuracy issues?

BTW, my car is on the compatibility list: http://www.garmin.com/uk/ecoroute-hd/compatability

Hello, I have had my ecoRoute HD for about three weeks. My fuel consumption is erratic. It seemed to be accurate before my last fill, about 11 L/100 km average. After I filled up this afternoon, my consumption went to 5 L/100 km!! Wow, but I know it wasn't that good... Not sure if I'm entering the data correctly.

  • Just to piggyback on that one... Before I got EcoRoute HD unit, fuel consumption calculations within ECO Challenge in my 3590 unit were based on the entered fixed data - and history reveals that the results were fairly accurate.

I have noticed that since EcoRoute HD unit is tied to it, my resulting fuel consumption shows extortionate figures. Is there any reason behind this and how it could be fixed?

My car is 2010 VOLVO V70 and it is listed as compatible one.
  • Not sure if this is of any help, however in my case there was eventually two steps procedure applied:

    * I spoke to Garmin Support who to my utmost surprise have replaced my ecoRoute unit without much ado,

Sadly, setup with the new unit behaved in exactly the same way. So...

    * I eventually and with rather heavy heart have reset the history of my driving adventures to date. Only to discover that it has resolved the issue immediately.
