Anyone know how this web page selects a starting location?
I live in Canberra and that page always loads with Sydney, which is over 350km away... not useful
How can I force it to start with Canberra as a default?

Yep... that happens.
But I think you should infer from the other posts that there is no way to set the default location. Although it's generally not good to read things into statements. But in this case it's true....or at least was true.
I noticed yesterday and today, that when I go to the activities explorer on GC, that it no longer zooms to an area 10 or so miles south of me. Now it's zoomed out further and is centered more or less on the area I typically ride.
Not sure if that's a glitch, or due to recent changes. BUT to answer the OP's question, I don't know of any way to set a default location. Might have changed though, maybe some Mods know and will clue us in later.
