Shoe Tracking - Garmin Connect

Need I say more, it´s been years since folks first brought this up as a much needed feature for Garmin Connect. I am still using another website in addition to Garmin Connect JUST to track my shoes´ mileage. Come on, it shouldn´t be that complicated to add this type of feature. You already have the best customer service out there. It would be great if you could also make sure that you are the ones providing the best software for using your own products. Thanks.

This is amazing that this feature isn't here. I just got a Fenix 2 SE watch and love it. The connect software on the iPhone is ok, but at least I can see routes and elevation changes in the PC. software.

I've been using the site RunningAhead for years to manually track runs. It seems I will have to continue to do so to track shoe mileage.

Sigh... I'm so tired of asking for this feature. I'm having to use other software (Training Peaks) right now solely for the equipment tracking. I'm loyal to Garmin devices and would be perfectly happy using only GC if they would implement this feature for shoes and bikes.

Come on, Garmin. How often do we have to ask for this?

    Take care,
    Jeff
  • Since this thread is so long i have not read every post, so sorry for a duplicate post. I have a work around that I think is useful. I created a goal with the following fields:
Goal Name: MIZUNO WAVE RIDER 18 Shoe Milage
    Activity Type: Running
    Goal Type: Distance
    What is your Goal?:500 Miles
    Measured Over: Annual
    Start Date: 2014-11-01

After creating this Goal, you can add it to your Connect Page.
  • Isaizk - I like your idea. Hard to do when you alternate shoes however a good temporary work around until something better comes along. Thanks for the tip.

+1! Was hoping to ditch Strava but I guess I still need them for this feature. There is a "gear" button on the bottom of the edit profile page but I can't seem to click on it for information. Maybe it's actually coming?

If you click the "info" button next to gear it says "Let everyone know which device you used for your most recent activity upload." So the gear just shows or hides your Garmin gear at this point.
  • +1 from me. This is a super important feature! What makes it even worse, even if you add your gear in the notes on your run, it doesn't export with the CSV!
