Need I say more, it´s been years since folks first brought this up as a much needed feature for Garmin Connect. I am still using another website in addition to Garmin Connect JUST to track my shoes´ mileage. Come on, it shouldn´t be that complicated to add this type of feature. You already have the best customer service out there. It would be great if you could also make sure that you are the ones providing the best software for using your own products. Thanks.
Shoe mileage tracking!!!!! Still confused as to why this simple upgrade would be so long in the making. Please add a gear feature like Strava did from the beginning. I rotate my running shoes and it would be nice to have this feature on Garmin Connect. I would like to use just one app/website.
I think it likely garmin doesn't want to pay the royalties for this feature. There are several patents for tracking shoe usage with gps devices. Garmin is not one of the owners of such patent.
It really just needs two tables-one for the Shoe Details and one for tracking the miles against that shoe. Could do it with one table if you really wanted to. Quick pop window to add or edit a shoe then then a few fields on the Activity page to display the incremental miles for the shoe that you've added to the activity. No need to over-engineer this but right now I don't think Garmin is even paying attention.
Add me to this request please! I think a more accurate term would be "gear tracking" since I also track my HRM and some other equipment. I like knowing how many miles something lasts before it breaks or wears out. I have been using Daily Mile to track miles on my equipment since it is so easy to add new gear, track it and then retire it when worn out. Just one click to select the gear I wore and BAM. Done. I can also easily import my Garmin activities to Daily Mile. I would use only Garmin Connect if they would improve it. Even the modern version is highly disappointing for Forerunner users. I think Garmin just wanted it to look cooler and accommodate those with step/sleep trackers, like the vivoFit and vivoSmart.
