Shoe Tracking - Garmin Connect

Need I say more, it´s been years since folks first brought this up as a much needed feature for Garmin Connect. I am still using another website in addition to Garmin Connect JUST to track my shoes´ mileage. Come on, it shouldn´t be that complicated to add this type of feature. You already have the best customer service out there. It would be great if you could also make sure that you are the ones providing the best software for using your own products. Thanks.
  • There might be a patent on the idea of tracking shoes from a device. So Garmin might just not want to pay the royalties.....just guessing or supposing here.

But if you really want Garmin to know you want this feature, you should use this link to make sure they get your opinion on the matter Submit Ideas to Garmin

Yes I was just thinking about this today since I bought a new pair of shoes. I put a note on my Garmin Connect Calendar when I started with my new pair a shoes and put a note on the calendar several months from now to run a report to check my mileage. It would be nice to have some functionality where after you input the start date for your new pair of shoes and then get an alert/reminder once you hit "X" number of miles on those shoes.

I use Nike plus to keep up with my mileage and it is a pain to track all runs on both sites. This should be a simple fix for a great company like Garmin! Let's get this done guys.

Add me to the long list of folk who would like this simple feature.
  • All - another quick search for "gear tracking" also dates back 4-5 years... I can't figure out why this is so difficult especially based on user request?!

Not only for shoes but for any gears like bikes, components,... Like SportTracks does.

Seventeen pages of people requesting shoe/gear tracking going back two years, and that's just in this thread. There are numerous threads on this forum covering the same issue that come up if you do a Google search. When a company is rapidly losing market share to smartphones, you'd think they would be jumping all over the chance to provide enhancements that their current users want, rather than ignoring those repeated requests and giving their remaining customers more reason to look at other companies who DO provide those solutions....
