Communicator plugin! :-/

I received my Garmin Forerunner 10 today. I plugged it in to my laptop, followed the instructions, and downloaded the software. When I click on the download, to open and install it, I keep getting this message:

"Please close Chrome before continuing. Press 'retry' to continue, otherwise press 'cancel' to exit the installation. (If this message persists you may have to close all of your other applications.)"

I haven't got Chrome or any other application open?

Please help me, it is starting to frustrate me.

  • Chrome will often be running processes in the background even if you don't have an obvious window open. Assuming you're running Windows, try using the Task Manager to kill any "chrome.exe" processes.
