Unable to upload date from Garmin Edge 500

Downloaded and installed the necessary plug-ins, had my Garmin account all set up and am unable to upload any data whatsoever.

When I click on "upload" it says "searching for devices," followed by "TypeError: Cannot read property 'nodeValue' of undefined."

Initially it was attempted on google chrome. Someone suggested that I change web browser so I did, using I.E followed by firefox to no avail.

What's the problem here? Is the device faulty? Or maybe the laptop itself? I purchased the device today brand new.

Hi, can u tell me if u can update the firmware on the edge 500 with the Garmin Web Updater?
I like to known if that comes up with a error to, if that works, the problem is not in the device.

Long time ago I had trouble with Firefox and chrome to, after removing both completely from my
Pc, and doing a restart and installing IE al worked fine again.
