Uploading each day does it affect the battery?

I have a Garmin Forerunner 210 watch.
Just a question - does it harm the battery to upload data every day? After I have uploaded the new activity, I leave the watch till the battery is showing full but not sure if this is ok as most batteries should be run down before recharging, I believe.
Hope someone can answer this for me.
  • I don't think it harms them. NiCad batteries got us all in the mindset that we had to let them discharge some, but most of the newer lithium batteries don't require this. In fact I've been told they do better if you charge them at every opportunity. Now as for what type of battery is in your forerunner, I have no idea.

Of course I do want to make the disclaimer that I am no expert........ you should trust no one and get agreement from multiple, credible sources...... I'd say about a dozen at the minimum.
  • The Forerunner 210 has lithium-ion battery.

The Forerunner 210 has lithium-ion battery.

So does that mean its ok for multiple charging - daily?
  • Every time I do a new activity, I immediately upload it and leave my edge500 connected to my PC. It doesn't seem to have hurt. But if you want to get a definitive from Garmin, you probably need to call or email their support. This forum is mainly just users of Garmin products. And we have all sorts of opinions we love to offer as fact. Most of the time they are fairly factual, but all should be taken with a healthy level of skepticism.
