Graphs on some activites now not showing in Garmin Connect, javascript errors

Hello, can anyone help?

The Garmin Connect symptom I'm experiencing is v frustrating as I can no longer view some previously uploaded activities. The description and ride data appear but none of the graphs load up. And the browser is reporting javascript errors ("Object expected", " 'jQuery' is undefined ", " 'Highcharts' is undefined "). This is only happening on a few activities, but frustratingly it is always the longer rides I have done on cycle tours.

Here is an example http://connect.garmin.com/activity/212351667

The Previous & Next arrows are greyed out, and none of the icon buttons like Edit, Share, Export, etc. work except for Save as Course.

As I no longer have the original ride data (the .tcx) I cannot reload, so my concern is I have now lost the ride data forever. I've tried saving the course, uploading it to my device (705) and then using that .tcx file to upload into Garmin Connect, but GC won't accept the file.

I've tried viewing in different browsers, IE, Mozilla and Chrome, but the same symptoms persist.

The only thing I can see that's different about these activities versus others (I have 277 loaded), is that the text block I've entered is normally longer than most.

Your final hunch is correct. This is a bug related to the activity description field. It appears that if your description consists of 999 characters or more, this somehow messes up the proper loading of the page, preventing the GPS track map and graphs from appearing. As you noted, the "Previous" and "Next" links also don't work, nor does the "Edit" function. If you keep the description to 998 characters or fewer, the page should load correctly.

Of course, with the edit icon not working, how can one trim down an existing lengthy description to 998 characters or fewer? The way around this is to click on "Splits" ("Details | Splits | Player" above the map). The edit icon should work on the Splits page. Once you've shortened up the description, go back to the main ("Details") page for the activity in question, and the map & graphs ought to appear successfully.

This is a relatively new limitation on the description length; I don't think this bug existed prior to this summer. I have many old activities saved with lengthy descriptions, and they always loaded up just fine until a couple months ago.
