Modify TCX-files - split and merge - keep summary data updated!

I recently did a triathlon and during the transition from bike to run I forgot to keep the watch up-to-date and hence my bike leg includes most of T2 and T2 is almost non-existent. I would like to modify the TCX-files so I can cut-off the excess data from the bike leg and merge it with the T2 file - while keeping speed, altitude gain, calorie consumption etc updated as well. I've tried manually updating the files with a text editor but it's to much work. I've also tried TCXConverter and GPSBabel but neither of them provided accurate results (gps, calorie, cadence, altitude etc wrong afterwards)

Are there any tools available for modifying TCX-files without destroying part of the contents?

PS: Sorry for possible errors in the text - it took 8 attempts before the thread were created in the Garmin Forum - my question was deleted many times...
