after i hike, i upload my latest hikes to garmin connect. usually it detects my hikes and uploads easily. but last two times ive tried, it just hangs up. it detects my gps, shows i have 2 logs. seems to be uploading them, then it just stops at 98% completed and does nothing. ive tried manually doing it and it just hangs up. im using a 60csx and it has fresh batteries.

    Only able to upload manually

I have been having to manually upload since 8/27. I have been uploading automatically from my 76csx for 3 years then suddenly nothing. It hangs up at 98%. It shows the activities on the unit but they will not upload.

    Garmin product support response

I contacted support about the upload problem. Basically GC only supports manual upload from Garmin's "Outdoor Products" after the last update.
Currently I am using Mapsource to do manual uploads. Its a pain but it looks like the only way at this point using my 76csx.
    Here is their response.

"Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I will be happy to assist you with the upload of activities from your GPSmap 76CSx.
Unfortunately, with the last update to Garmin Connect, the outdoor products can, only manually upload data to Garmin Connect using BaseCamp.
Do you have BaseCamp loaded to your computer? Please, visit this website for access to BaseCamp:
    http://www8.garmin.com/support/mappingsw.jsp
Please follow these instructions for uploading your activities:
1). Select the activity that you want to upload in BaseCamp (you can select many activities at one time)
2). Right click on the highlighted activity
    3). Select Send To
    4). Send to My Collection
    5). Select File
    6). Select Export
7). Export the file(s) to the desktop
8). Select manual upload in Garmin Connect
    9). Select File
    10). Select Open
Your activities should be in Garmin Connect at this point.

I was able to upload directly from my 76csx today. It appears that GC is supporting uploads from their outdoor products again.
  • I've upload to Connect from my 60CSX using Communicator for a long time. Up until a few weeks ago the "Upload all new activity" feature worked, making it very easy. That feature no longer works, but there is a workaround: Set the device to ALSO record all activity to the microSD card, then use the Manual upload to upload the activities one by one directly from the card.

I've been complaining to Customer support to get the "Upload all new activity" feature working again. They are saying their hands are tied because the device is no longer on the Connect list of supported devices. They suggested I submit my request for restoration as an "Idea" at http://www8.garmin.com/contactUs/ideas/. I have done so and would appreciate it if all other 60CSx users would do the same. This is a suggestion from Customer Support.
