    Hi,

Did you check the satellite signal's strenght?

I don't know about the other Garmin watches but, although the 410 picks up a signal pretty quickly, the accuracy may sometime takes a full minute to be within the 5 meters range!

For some of my runs, if I look at the course on the map, I can see that, although the path is perfectly in line with what I did, the location of that path is off at the start!

So, since I noticed that, on every run, I try to start the satellite acquisition in advance and I check the accuracy before starting the actual run. To check this accuracy, you first need to do a long press on the left side of the bezel (like if you were to activate the GPS) and, by default, the highlighted page choice will be "Satellites". You then do a short bezel touch (or upper right button) and, it will show you the satellite information, along with the GPS accuracy.

That accuracy is often in the 20 meters range at the start. Yesterday even showed me 27 meters. So, starting a run right after satellite acquisition is dangerous for accuracy!

Also note that, when the watch goes in sleep mode, the GPS is turned off. When you turn it back "on", it will need to re-acquire satellites again...

    Hope this helps!
