New measurement "VO2MAX" in Analyze/Health page

Is it a new function to automatically calculate your VO2MAX from your running stats?
Has Garmin introduced it anywhere, or Tanita?

I noticed this too since the upgrade on Monday - how do we use it please?

I found the only way to enter the information is to input it manually.
Settings/Personal Information/
Enter VO2 Max:______ ml/kg/min

The information is then transferred to your "Health" page.

I tried it with a fictitious number and it seemed to work.

Does anyone know how it might affect calculations in devices? e.g. Edge 500, Forerunners, etc. Or is this purely for record-keeping?

It looks like that the VO2max-value can be set on the "Settings-Personal Data"-page for the current day.

But how can I delete/change a VO2max-value from the past?
