Tanita scales WITHOUT watch

Hi

I have a forerunner 405 which is incompatible with the Tanita BC-1000 body monitor scales.

Can I use the scales directly with Garmin Connect using my Ant+ stick or does the data first have to flow through one of the compatible watches?

Thanks

It is my understanding that you need to download the information to a compatable Garmin device then upload to Garmin Connect.
I have a Garmin Forerunner 910XT and a Tanita BC-1500 Ironman Radio Wireless body monitor scale. I download the information to Garmin device then upload to Garmin Connect.
I then close my Garmin ANT Agent, and record the information again, then download my information to "http://my.tanita.com/"
When in range of a your computer, the information is automatically transmitted to your computer using the your Garmin ANT+ wireless USB Stick and captured with Tanita's FREE Healthy Edge Lite Software or in my case the Tanita widget for Mac. I use the Tanita site because Tanita BC-1500 Ironman Radio Wireless body monitor gives me more information than standard body composition monitors. This unit gives individual body composition readings for each body segment: trunk, right arm, left arm, right leg and left leg, that Garmin Conect does not list.

You can't download direct to Garmin Connect, however you can download to "http://my.tanita.com/" Garmin ANT+ wireless USB Stick and captured with Tanita's FREE Healthy Edge Lite Software.

Garmin Connect does not give the the option to manually enter body composition readings.

    I hope this helps.

    P.BRAULT,

I have the same set up 910xt & a Mac Book, & I'm thinking of purchasing a Tanita BC-1500 to help me track my progress as I will be doing my first Ironman 70.3 later in the year. But I've heard some people saying that the scale doesn't work well with a Mac OS. My main focus is with how well works with Garmin Connect in helping me Analyze Health feature. Any information you can provide on this feature would be very helpful.

    Body Composition Manual Input

If we are still having compatibility issues with devices and operating systems, why can't you manually input your own body composition information in Garmin Connect?!

How long is this compatibility war going to continue?

With this program (http://jmfloreszazo.com/scale2fi/) and the Windows operating system, you can upload manual measurements in Garmin Connect.

I do it with my Tanita BC 532.

While you waiting for a Garmin or Tanita solution, this can help you to take your log.
