Is it possible to import Sports Tracker GPX files into Garmin Connect

Hi guys (and ladies of course),

I'm new to Garmin devices and am also new to running :) I'm halfway through a 13 week program to run a 10k and I've done all my tracking on an Android phone with Sports Tracker. I'm still waiting for my Garmin device but I'm really excited so I already set up a Garmin Connect account and was wondering if I could import my Sports Tracker GPX files into Garmin Connect.

However I keep getting an error every time I try. I'm not sure if Garmin Connect only accepts GPX files from Garmin devices. Can someone please enlighten me?

Thanks and have a great day,

David

any idea yet on the import from sportstracker to Garmin?

    Hi David!

I was wondering if you got your answer one way or another yet? I have just purchased my 1st Garmin (Forerunner 10) and I have about a year's worth of work outs from Sportstracker that I'd like to import... Perhaps not all.of them though... As it may take ages!
Wondered if it should be done from the ST website maybe?
Thanks in advance for anyone's help on that one :-)

  • Every time I import a workout from Sports Tracker I loose Lap Info: I only get a single lap corresponding to the whole training session.
Could this be related to the format of the GPX file that is exported from Sports Tracker or is it rather an importing issue on Garmin Connect side?

I have the same problem. My training history is tracked in Sports Tracker. I wish to import all the activities recorded there to Garmin Connect, since now i use only this platform.

Answering your question, I believe it's a problem with Garmin Conncect importing service.

I exported GPX files from Sports Tracker and imported them seamlessly into Strava. I had no problem doing the reverse.

And finally, to confirm that it is a Garmin Connect importing problem, I tried importing GPX files from Strava to Garmin Connect, and just like it happened with Sports Tracker, i got the single lap problem.
  • Hi, did you manage to find any solution? I am a fan cause long term I run with a sports tracker, now I started using strava for bike but I don´t like the app since it is too expensive for me to pay for it but Garmin doesn't share to sports tracker because it has a deal with Suunto. I actually do like the appearance of a sports tracker so I wonder what was your solution. Thank you

  • Garmin Connect is designed to work with Garmin devices, but it might be possible. If you have a sample GPX file, could you insert it into your post so we can take a look?

Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK. Or upload the file to a file sharing service, such as OneDriveGoogle DriveDropbox, etc., then post a link to the file in your post.

  • I found a solution for what I needed. App called RunGap allows to share in between Strava, sports trackers and many others and it is capable of synchronizing previous activities for a small fee. for around 4$ I managed to get 10+ years of tracking on mobile into Strava, Garmin..
