GC can see my device but I can't upload my activities.

I have recently invested in the Edge 800 but I'm having problems uploading my activities. GC can see my device but tells me there are no new activities to upload (my activities are stored on my sd card). When selecting upload from memory card, GC just hangs with the message 'searching memory card for new activities'. When using the manual upload with the correct file path entered, the 'upload activity' button is inoperative. I have managed to manualy upload one activity using the manual option, but only after a great deal of trial and error involving re-boots of my PC and GC. I'm running Windows 7 and IE8.
Any advice greatly appreciated, but keep it relatively simple and low-tech please.

    We have the same device and issue!
    I started using Google Chrome and that appears to help with most connect plugin issues.
    Take the SD card out of the edge and insert diectly into your computer. Run the upload again and it should find the card. Still might not find your activity so if not, do the "select activities" or manual and select the file off the card. It works but not what I expected.

    Also I called garmin and they told me it is a known issue with a few batches of the 800's and a software fix is underway. They offered to replace but said the replacement could have the same issue.

    They also said try saving activities to the device not the card and then try it.
