Wrong time zone displayed in Garmin Connect.

Hi!
My time zone is set to GMT +1 (Central Europe) in Garmin Connect. Quite often my activities are displayed as "Atlanterhavet (Canada og Sentral-Amerika" which is 6 hours wrong.
This seems to happen more and more often.
Lately I have been using Garmin Fit on iPhone. The time zone displayed in Garmin Fit is correct (GMT +1), but when the activity is uploaded to Garmin Connect the time zone displayed in GC is wrong for some activities.
Is there any solution to this?
It would be nice if anyone could help me solve this!
(It would be best if the time zone displayed was the local time zone for the location the activity took place.)

Hm... and you're certain that the settings of Garmin Connect have the proper time zone selected? If so, then perhaps this note from the time zone setting in Garmin Connect applies in your situation:

Note: This setting will only apply for new non-GPS uploads and does not change the time of activities already stored at Garmin Connect.

In other words, uploads containing GPS data will use the time settings from the GPS data. So... is your device set properly?
  • Thank you for your reply!

As mentioned "Lately I have been using Garmin Fit on iPhone. The time zone displayed in Garmin Fit is correct (GMT +1), but when the activity is uploaded to Garmin Connect the time zone displayed in GC is wrong for some activities."
I can't find any place to set the time zone in Garmin Fit on my iPhone, but Garmin Fit displays the correct time, even after I have synced it with Garmin Connect which displays the wrong time zone for the same activity. The problem with Garmin Connect diplaying the wrong time zone does not apply to all activities, even if they are from the same device (Garmin Fit on iPhone) and the same country (Norway). I am not sure, but i think it sometimes has happened with my other Garmin devices to, but it happens much more often now (with Garmin Fit on iPhone).

Er... sorry. I wish I could offer more help but I don't use Garmin Fit. Perhaps someone else will come along that has better info.
  • I had this same problem! My Garmin watch was set to Eastern Standard Time Zone, but Connect would always upload the information using wrong time zone. I finally found the solution...In your Garmin Connect account go to the top right corner where you will see your username and a drop down arrow. Click on the arrow and choose the option Settings, then choose Display Preferences, you will then see the option of Upload Time Zone where you can change it to the correct zone. Hope this helps!!

My 210 was showing the correct time but when uploaded to Garmin Connect it was giving the wrong time zone. Thanks to your instructions to find the settings on Garmin Connect my uploads are coming in correctly. I really appreciate your step-by-step to find the settings, too. Much thanks!

I am having the exact same issue. It's become very confusing now that I am committed to two workouts a day.
Challenging and frustrating as I want the activity/calories ect…to be be credited to the correct day.
For a tech background Fitbitters can focus on my any other things but I need to share a link (i think)
If anyone knows of a fix/adjustement please let me know!

  • Looks like the interface changed. On the left side of the Garmin Connect screen look for a profile (head/shoulders) image. Click on that & choose "Settings". You'll see an "Upload Time Zone" setting.
I just set mine and I don't have new data to upload yet, but it looks like it should work : )
