Can I update maps to a Nuvi2595LMT with linux pc?

I run linux on my pc, Garmin devices use linux too. However the Map Updater software for users to run on their pcs is Microsoft/MAC specific.

Can I update maps (I hope to buy lifetime maps) on my Nuvi2595 manually by downloading the appropriate file from Garmin and copying it to the Nuvi2595LMT?

No ... Garmin don't provide a 'file' that can be simply transferred, not even under Windows or Mac.
