I recently got a Garmin unit after my Magellen unit finally died.
I noticed some improvements but in some areas some lack of basic features.
1. Scale is not displayed on unit.
2. Although Voice recognition is added it is somewhat limited, it should be able to operate the unit without having to touch the screen while driving.
The biggest missing voice command being zoomin and zoom out of the map resolution. Changing routing information is buried in the menu. Doesn't audibly acknowledge that the route is being recalculated
3. WIFI access to google map information would be a plus rather than just usb to computer. This would allow updating the unit with additional infomation without plugging the unit in.
4. Iphone application for Smartphone link currently missing. Should be a usb to usb cable so that phone can be connected to GPS while driving.

6. Showing POI on the Map is somewhat hit or miss , at least in the 3d mode
