Ok...so I took my new 405cx out for a test run. The data & analytics were awesome. I'm 31, so my THR is about 190. Seeing that I got up to 178 and averaged 161 (zone 4)...I thought I was burning a ton of calories from fat...NOPE! According to this article...only 15% of calories burned in this zone come from fat  So if they aren't coming from fat...where the heck are they coming from?
Here's the site
So what I don't get is this article is telling me I can burn 85% of my calories from fat at a much lower heart rate...I'm talking like a friggin walking pace. 95-113bpm.
I'm assuming if I set my goal at 750 calories per outing, I can hit the 500 calories FASTER if I'm in zone 4, but less of the calories will come from fat - which is what I'm trying to lose! So should I extend my runs from 30min-45min to probably double that, and cut my pace in half and train in zone 1 & 2 to maximize weight loss?
