Should be able to trim an activity and add splits after uploading

Wouldn't think such basic editing would have to be written up as a feature request. I don't think my garmin device has a "split feature". In spite of that I continue to use it rather than replace it or throw it away. Would be nice if I could add splits after uploading to garmin connect from my garmin device.

On the subject of editing, it would be nice if I could trim the garbage from the beginning and end of my activities.

Yep ad my vote, though from what I can see votes don't make much difference

Please Garmin - fix this. Or at least provide an answer why you don't. Today I apparently walked 454km with an average speed of 421km/h and this data is totally useless for me if I cannot trim away the bad GPS position readings at the beginning.

Well, I saw this problem again today. I am increasingly convinced Garmin will never lift a finger to correct this fundamental issue in Garmin Connect.

I am very disappointed. I've used Garmin units since the GPS III in the mid-90s. Software is going to be this company's downfall, and it really saddens me to say this.

There is hope, they opened up some of the new devices to outside developers. That being said, when a person forgets to stop the clock at the end of a run, it can really screw the data up. As you said, hardware isn't the problem, but software could still be Garmin's downfall. Unless of course they're just waiting for an Apple or Microsoft to come along and buy them up - hard to say what the business plan is on that front.

This may be answered previously, but this is easy to do in Garmin's free Basecamp program.

You can trim, modify and generally edit files in basecamp, then import them into the Connect website. You can either use the .FIT file or export a GPX file from Connect to import into Basecamp.

I just want to be able to see my 5k and 10k times without having to stop or look at the watch at exactly the right moment. I like to have my watch units in miles, but I guess I'll have to set the watch to kilometers with laps switched on so at least I can see the 5k and 10k times in the splits. Has anyone worked out how to plot a graph of all their 5k and 10k times, or is this not possible?
