Unusual track behaviour with Montana 650t

I've just noticed an unusual track behaviour with my new Montana 650t. I was a passenger in the front seat and holding the 650t so it had a good view of the sky. I left the road by turning a 90 deg left turn when I arrived at my destination and stopped at the gate after about 3 meters. Then was driven about 8 mtrs at about another 50 deg left and stopped again.

After a short wait, we moved slowly forward (away from the road) and I noticed the track jump to on top of the track a few moments earlier close to (just over the width of the road on the map) the road.

Since the introduction of 'lock to road', I've hated this distortion of my track and now that it's an option that can be turned off, I keep it off. So it's not that.

I stopped looking at the screen as we drove a little further and then the track repositioned to the correct path, removing the point(s) from the line on the road. The zoom is at 80ft and the amount of 'jump' is about 11 mm on the screen

Any idea what this new feature/development is?

It appears that a false plot can be corrected!
