plz help me with my new 1490 gps!!

i just bought a 1490t and it wont start

i connected it to my pc via usb cable, nothing shows on screen while trying to load it. is it loading? why cannot i start it?

It is possible the battery is completely discharged.

Have you left unit connected, via the USB cable, for a few hours to charge the battery?

ive been "loading" it for 1 hour.

at first, when i connected it, it showed up some text and logo of a pc. directly after it shut down. when loading it, is it normally like this with empty screen?
