Activities Charts Overlays?

Hi,
Just got an Edge 800 this weekend and have just uploaded my first few rides, s am learning about all the features etc

One question I have that I've tried searching for in the forum is whether there is a way to overlay any of the graphs so say you can see the timing and the Elevation together (or with HRM etc)

Is there also any other way to analyse apart from in Connect itself? Thanks

Brett
  • Garmin Training Center will do this.

For a particular activity, click on the Player button (upper right) on the ribbon. Unfortunately, I can only seem to overly 2 graphs at once (e.g, Elevation, Heart Rate)
  • Overlay Charts anyone?

I just purchased a Garmin Edge 1000 and really like the device. I switched from Mio, where I was disappointed by the quality and (lack of) user friendliness. However, what I miss in Garmin Connect is the ability to overlay graphs, like it is possible in Mioshare.

There should be a way to plot over distance, altitude, climb rate and heart rate, as I was used on MIO. (Screen shot attached, I hope :D )

I hope this will be enabled, but I couldn't find anything in this forum. As Garmin training Center is being discontinued, I am stuck.

    Thanks
  • You can do this in Garmin connect within the activity.  Click on the activity, then click the zoom link in the right hand corner of the base graph you'd like to use i.e. cadence in a cycling activity.  That will produce a new window with a zoomed in view of the chart.  In the top right hand corner it will say something like Overlay - None and there will be a "glif - go lower in file - carot.  Click on the carrot and it will give you option of charts which you can overlay.  It's not perfect, however, it's the only way I've seen how to do it.  Can't add a picture here, but you can manipulate it through Microsoft Word, save as a picture and then import it into your activity if you want to do that.
