How to undelete a deleted activity

Hello,
I've just deleted an activity that I should not have deleted. Does anyone know how I can undelete it? Or somehow retrieve it?
Thanks,
Gary
  • From where did you delete it? Garmin Connect? Your device? Training Center? Assuming GC, since you're posting to this section....

You should still have the original file that ANT agent has stored. If Windows 7/Vista it will be located at:
    C:\Users\<user ID>\AppData\Roaming\GARMIN\Devices\<device ID\Activites\
In that folder you can sort by date and look for the .fit file in question.
Then go to your GC Activies page. Click upload > "Manual Upload"
Browse to the appropriate .fit file and upload to GC

How can I find the data file in Mac OS? I couldn't find .fit file. Thank you for your help.
  • on Mac OS: <user>/Library/Application Support/Garmin/Devices/Device ID/Activities
  • on Mac OS: <user>/Library/Application Support/Garmin/Devices/Device ID/Activities

Note that the library folder is hidden by default in the last couple versions of Mac OS. If you need to unhide it, google something like "how to unhide library folder mac OS."
  • Just got my run back!

    Thank you! This worked!

  • Hi, I am currently using 910xt & I had the same problem twice.
I tried going to C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Devices\3878641538\NewFiles, there was no files at all.
My friend told me to search for .fit file but there was none.
I tried using garmin connect to do a manual upload from my device but somehow the loading of activities on my 910xt never finishes at all for me select the right activity to upload.
Feeling pissed off with my purchase of 910xt now.

    Hi,

Just figured this out if you're still interested. On Windows 8 the .fit files are actually stored in the file located:

    C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GarminConnect\Forerunner 910XT-Device Number\Upload\.

If you can't see the folder ProgramData you need to go to the view tab at the top of the page and check the box 'hidden items'.

Forgot to mention the .fit files are actually stored by what time you uploaded them and not the actual date and time you completed the activity which could be a problem if you uploaded several activities at the same time however if you upload them manually it lets you view the activity details so you'll just have to go through them individually if that is the case.

Hope this helps and if you need any more info let me know.

    Paul D.
  • Thank you after much searching through these forums this worked perfectly to save one hard, but memorable workout. Thanks.
  • Hello Phil, Do you have a procedure to follow if I deleted an activity from the garmin edge 510 device?
