City Navigator North America downloaded to SD card not recogn1ised by Device

I purchased and downloaded the map directly onto a 2GB SD card that was installed in my Nuvi 3760T. The disc image of the map is visible on the SD card when I open the SD card using Windows explorer, however the GPS device does not recognise the maps. I would appreciate it if anyone can help me with this. Thanks.
  • It depends on file names, directories, maps in your nuvi.

If you have no City Explorer NA in nuvi and your files are in directory \Map on SD, then your map should be visible in maps menu of nuvi.

Well, assuming, that SD card is formated as Fat16 or Fat32 ;)

    Thanks popej.

Yes, card is formated FAT 32 and is in MAP folder in SD Card. GPS seems to be recognising the SD card as a removable disc rather than as one of the Nuvi directories!
  • PC sees SD as second removable drive, this is ok.

On SD in \Map directory there should be 3 files with the same name and extension .img, .gma, .unl. If you have them all, then there is possibility, that some files are damaged. Nuvi 37xx can have problems with SD slot, when attached to PC. I suggest to download again but using SD card reader instead.

All 3 files as you described. Will try downloading directly to SD card using card reader. Will let you know how it goes. Thanks for your help.

    Thanks.

    Thanks POPEJ.

Downloading using the card reader worked. I appreciate your help.
