Incorrect elevation gain ?

The elevation gain reported seems contradictory to the elevation chart for a run. Take this for example:

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/178260241

Zooming in on the elevation graph and summing the uphills nets at least 80 meters of elevation gained, but only 38 are reported.

That's just gps. Distances and elevation can be flakey. I'm finding distances are +/- 15 meters/k and I'm often getting dramatic elevation gains reported doing flat wo's along the beach.

Sure, GPS can be inaccurate. My point was that the data shown on the elevation graph should be consistent with the reported elevation gain. Looks like a bug to me.

Sorry I guess I don't understand your question then. Zooming in on your flat elevation line it still looks flat.

Zoom in so much that the bottom of the scale is 1500 meters. Then you'll see bumps.
