I am an on-location photographer. To claim mileage for tax purposes, I used to grudgingly write my vehicle mileage in one of those little books.
I am a big fan of automation. When I saw how Garmin Connect gave a detailed account of my trips, I began to use Garmin connect to log and track my mileage for tax purposes.
It came in handy as this last year we were audited. My wife and I keep impeccable records, and the business mileage claimed was near perfect. I have a very detailed record from the Garmin Connect which cannot be refuted. For this I am grateful.
I am guessing that this is not the original intent for Garmin Connect, because I noticed that there are no categories for transportation - nor can I add categories for my business purposes.
I assume that Garmin has some sort of Garmin Connect for vehicle mileage. I just can't find it.
If Garmin does not have anything for logging vehicle mileage, good gosh!! I am sure I am not alone in desiring a near-automated solution for vehicle mileage records. There is a huge market for this and the Garmin connect already contains most of the functionality.
Anyone know if something exists? Or would this be a great alternative idea for Garmin connect?
