How do you guys set up your brick workouts in GC?

I just purchased a 910. Browsing this forum, I realize now why I could not set up a brick workout in GC. It just does not support (yet) multisport workouts.

But is there an ad hoc workaround? Or do you have to program 2 separate activities?

I want to program my bike training + my run as a simple brick training.

Thanks in advance.

Francois
  • The Garmin devices do not support brick workouts. You need to set up a bike workout and a run workout separately.

    Thanks Phil for the clarification.

Are you not able to use the Multisport Workout feature on the 910XT for a brick workout? That's what I use on my 310XT.

The 910XT owner's manual describes Multisport Workout on page 8.
  • Using the multisport function to carry out a brick activity and recording the data is different to carrying out a brick activity using a multisport workout.

You cannot create a workout that has both cycling and running as components. You can only create a cycling workout and a running workout.

Just thinking ..... could we just set the watch to triathlon? ie press start, and go through the process of button pressing to go through a pretend swim, and pretend T1, then literally do the next two sessions. When uploaded - obviously we'd end up with a two or three second swim of nil distance and a 1 second T1, but it may be a work around for now?
