I have a Garmin Forerunner 305. I am confused by different distances being reported in different situations.
1. Watch reports track = 3.54 (870 data point)
2. In Garmin Connect - if I select the track and convert it to a course, the distance = 3.68
3. Importing into Sports Tracks 3.1, distance = 3.82
4. Importing into SportsTrackerLive, distance = 3.82
5. Importing into Endomondo, distance = 3.82
6. Importing into Trimble Outdoors, distance = 3.82
7. Using the Haversine Formula in excel with data, distance = 3.82
My phone reports 3.67 miles (253 data points)
If I use my excel spread sheet and use 1/3 of the data points, the distance is 3.69. The 3.6-3.7 ranges is the correct distance.
Do I just have too many data points and need to filter some of the out?
