Data Upload halts mid-stream and won't complete

My 310XT works fine, but my 910XT has problems. It connects to the ant agent, then starts to download. It gets about a third to half of the download complete and then stops and says:

I have seen many other posts, but I haven't found any that mention the transfer of data starting and then not completing. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem.

Does anyone have a solution?
  • At what point does it stop? You should be able to watch the transfer and note where it hangs and eventually fails. This has happened to me in the past. I was able to go to the folder associated with where it is hanging and delete it. The folder will automatically get recreated during the next upload.

The location of the folder depends on what operating system are you using.

It makes it about half-way. interestingly, when the watch is closer to the USB device, it makes it further and when it is farther away from the USB device, it doesn't get as far. This makes me consider that something is timing out instead of getting to the same point and getting stuck.
  • You should see what files it is trying to upload just before it stops.

There is one odd data set on the watch. It is dated "12-Dec-09" which is obviously an error. I cannot delete this. Is there any other way to get in there and delete data?

How can you tell? My computer just says what percent has downloaded and my 910XT just says "transferring data" or something like that.

okay. I got tired of spending my free time goofing with this. Because the apparently bad file was the one form 2009 and it wouldnt delete, I went with "delete all" and now, subsequent files will sync. Not a good solution because I had to discard quite a bit of data, but at least I should be able to upload future data.
