I have three GPS's I have tried this on, and none of them seem to be able to get the GPX files for geocaching. I am using a Montana 650, Rhino 655t and GPSmap 60cs. I am using a brand new MacBook Pro with Lion. When I download a Geocache it says that the file has been written to my GPS but when I check there is no file. Just to check I downloaded the files using a PC and this is working fine. Does anyone know why the files aren't writing with Mac even though it is saying that it has? I am thinking it is a Communicator issue of some sort.
hi! I just got a etrex 30 and am having a simillar problem. I am only using snowleapord but i tried loading the gpx file and i got nothing. did you hear back from garmin how to set it up? cheers, Ben
I'm having the same problem with a Rino 655t. I import the .gpx file into Basecamp, it shows up fine (although I can't make an elevation plot, but that's another bug report, my third so far), and I 'Send List to Device' and it shows up in the Bascamp as being on the device, but when I disconnect the Rino, start it up and try to find this track on the Rino itself, it's nowhere to be found: It's not under 'Track Manager', 'Route Planner' nor 'Where to' and those are the only places I can think it would be.
I like the sturdiness of Garmin products, but I have to say their user documentation, support and software (both on the device, and on the computer) kinda sucks. It's pretty amazing to me (as a software engineer) that this company has a virtual lock on this segment of the market.
