Cannot get Dakota 10 to connect

Last year I had no trouble connecting my Dakota 10 to the website it worked flawlessly This year it finds the device but spins perpetually as saying 'uploading new event' It never goes beyond that I have restarted my computer and Dakota 10 I have connected to the website first and second after plugging in I have Windows Vista OS any help would be great thanks

I've had similar results and found that the USB cable was at fault.

I tried another USB cord with the same results I was able to see my route on GOOGLE EARTH but alas not on the Garmin site. Not sure what is wrong
