Any idea why my eTrex 30 has a hole in the back of the case which has been stopped up with some epoxy glue?
Looks like it was designed to help the barometer function but perhaps it made the unit insufficiently waterproof? Or perhaps this is a modification that's routinely done for the eTrex 10/20 which was mistakenly done to my 30?
Either way I'm not impressed by the barometer's performance - I'm always stopping for a break only to find my 'altitude' rise or fall by several tens of feet over the course of 10 minutes or so. You can't even turn the barometer off like you can with the compass!
