Garmin edge 605 freezing

hi can anybody help i have a garmin edge 605 and it keeps freezing or works but cant get into some of the menus, so i think it needs a new firmware put back into it or a hard reset which i dont know how to do ,and when i go to the webupdater and connect my edge it says file downloaded is corrupt and closes is there something i need to do im running windows 7 thanks any help appreciated
