Hi, was wondering if anyone can help me.

I have an Edge 800 which I use in conjunction with Garmin Connect. I have recently embarked on a fitness regime (or is it a spending regime?) and bought the Tanita Body Composition monitor (BC1000) which hooks into the 800. All works fine.

My wife would like to make use of the body composition monitor, but the only interface I have into it (without buying more kit) is through the 800.

So I am wondering whether we could create a Garmin Connect account for her, she could use this monitor and load the data into my 800, then upload into her Garmin Connect account?

Obviously I am aware that this will leave the wrong data on the 800, but presumably this can be easily corrected just by measuring myself again. I'm more concerned about whether Garmin Connect will allow us to do this, or whether it'll say, "sorry, this 800 is registered to someone else".

I thought I would pose the question on here before actually trying anything, since I don't want to screw anything up if this isn't going to work.

Many thanks for any advice,
Pete
  • Garmin Connect will not prevent you from uploading the weight data to another account, but you might have trouble with the scale history that is held on the device. The Edge 800 will store a history of about 20 weight readings, so if you both use the scale with it, it will have a mix of both measurements, and they would all be uploaded to Connect simultaneously.

    thanks.

btw if I close my eyes and forget about the expense, the BC1000 really is an excellent piece of kit.
