Uploading maps to garmin connect (GPX)

Is it possible to upload maps that was created on other mapping software to garmin connect (map my ride/GPX) ?

Theoretically, yes. However, I have had problems uploading gpx files created by BaseCamp! I traced it to a highly technical problem: BaseCamp puts a bit order code at the beginning of the file and Connect chokes on it. I've reported it to Garmin bout haven't checked recently to see if it's been fixed.

That said, I've successfully done it with gpx files sent to me from others from their Garmin devices. Just save the received gpx on your computer, then do a Manual upload in Connect. There is a Browse button to locate the file on your computer. I it doesn't have a bit order code prefix it will work just fine.

You can convert the GPX file to a TCX history file using TCX Converter and then do a manual upload of the TCX file.
