GARMIN: Are you listening to the complains on traiifc problem in CT?

I have been using Garmin GPS for more than six years. I have got used to prefect MSN Direct traffic serrvice.

Since 2012, we are forced to rely on your "lifetime" traffic report through NAVTEQ. However, I have been having nothing but trouble with your so called "lifetime" traffic service for three weeks now.

I am in New Haven, CT area, and have been testing two set of Garmin GPS systems: 3490LMT/GTM35 (GTM60 HD is a joke, admit it you Garmin!), and 775t?GTM21. On both systems, I was unable to receive traffic report for nearly three weeks now. We all know New Haven has heavy traffic along I-95/I-91. The poor traffic update is really an issue of the GPS or receiver systems.

Checking on this forum, we have opened a thread on this issue:
https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?t=25151

I have sent my traffic log to customer service (no response yet). I have counted that at least four members in this forum (at least five different settings) having the same problem in the same region!

Can Garmin start treating this seriously and doing some serious investigation?

Agilix, I gave up on Garmin. My 2595LMT was shipped back to Amazon Friday for a refund. I made sure to give this device in particular, and Garmin in general, a proper critical review. My advice would be to return or exchange your unit, if that is still an option. I did consider upgrading my old Nuvi 760 to have lifetime traffic. That thought lasted about 2.7 seconds, as we seem to now be reaching the conclussion that there is some type of fundamental flaw with the Garmin/Navteq connection in our area.

I am currently researching other GPS companies, and now I am even considering just upgrading my Android phone for a slightly larger & faster model, as I have heard that the Google Maps GPS & traffic service is very good.

It is my understanding that represetatives of Garmin do not monitor these forums, so there probably isn't much use in taking them to task here. After the less than helpful reply I got from directly e-mailing Garmin c.s., the only recourse I see for making them take notice is for others to write critical reviews with whatever vendor you purchased from, or potentially filing a claim with the BBB.

Aglix, I updated the other thread with my findings this weekend. Was going to use my 765T last night but couldn't find the power cord but it seems that if you are not getting any traffic with the 775T then I wouldn't get it either. I happened to mention it when I at Red Robin on Saturday in Milford how I was driving around testing the traffic and a few people there also mentioned to me that they were not getting any traffic on their units. I'm waiting on a reply from Garmin to see what the next step would be as I know it's not an issue with the power cords.

Please check your GPS again, the problem seems fixed. Still receiving 99.1 FM signal, and the traffic report is back to normal now.

I could't reply over the weekend, I did notice as of Friday evening was getting traffic data again though seemed they were working as it was spotty and would lose it in MIlford just by crossing the post road. Had checked the status and wasn't locked on 99.1 but doing a lot of scanning.. Went out yesterday and now is working fine with no issues at all.
