I think this would be a tremendous feature. In fact, trying to get it is one of the reasons I've come on this forum. I regularly check my work colleagues' activities. It would be so much easier if there was a page of "friends" you could use for quick access to their activities, rather than having to keep using the search facility, or settting up a shortcut using the favourites on your internet browser.
I would agree, I have several friends & family who use Garmin "into sports" equipment and we often share, in person, events such as; Tri, Du or Adventure races, runs, rides, etc. Then being able to share a new ride or results with "my friends" that they have missed, would be great. Being able to do this semi-privately with your "friends list", kind of like face book, without sharing with the entire world would be nice. When you share rides or runs, that regularly start in front of you own home, frankly scares me. I know of several people in my area (that I don't know) show rides every Saturday am at 7:00am like clockwork and they are always gone for 3 plus hours... get it. Sharing my rides/runs only with "my friends" would be fine. I have one daughter living a long ways away (with a medical/health/fitness degree) and being able to share my/our training results would be great. I am also currently training with her and my son-in-law for an adventure race (they are flying back for it), and being able to share training progress/results would be cool. Currently all I can do is take "screen prints" and e-mail them :(
Please can you add a feature to share our workouts more easily with friends, we are all waiting for this feature to be added. :)
I envisage the model employed by other sites e.g. Fetch Everyone to be a good place to start. i.e. Each user can make 'buddies' with other users. Each user then has the option to share or hide (by default) their workouts with each of their buddies.
Additional features like commenting on a buddy's workouts would be nice to have too.
Everybody I know using Garmin Connect were searching for this feature, so was I.
This is a "must" have feature. I can't even imagine it is not yet in place. I really am wondering if the Feature Requests is really read by Garmin developpers. It looks like this feature has been asked by many people for long time already.
