NMEA Data to Garmin 60CSx

I am a gliderpilot who recently acquired a Garmin 60CSx and would like to practice using it on a Soaring simulator called Condor. Condor outputs NMEA information which is commonly used with a external PDA or a PNA to aid in the flying of tasks. However, I have thus far been unable to get live NMEA data to flow to the Garmin GPS through a serial cable to the four prong input in the GPS. Now the questions are:

1) Can Garmin accept live NMEA data and show positioning on the moving map through the 4 prong connector from an external data source such as a computer?

2) If it can, what do I need to do in order to get the simulator data to effectively move to the GPS?

Thanks a lot!

It can accept NMEA data yes.

Main Menu -> Setup -> Interface -> Serial Data Format = NMEA In/NMEA Out

In the past I've used a program called NMEATalker to send data to my 76CSx. That was a long time ago so I've long since forgotten what worked and what didn't.
