Y-Axis on Graphs too wide on "Details" view in Garmin Connect

The line graphs for speed, cadence, elevation, etc. all looked fine until maybe a month ago. Now the Y-axis selects ridiculous min/max values, for example 0 ft and 7,500 ft on a ride that only ranged between 5,000 and 6,000 feet making the elevation graph uselessly flat.

They look fine on the "player" view, but still, the Y-axis values in "Details" view looked fine until maybe a month or two ago.

I'm certain it's a Garmin Connect issue, not a software issue on my Edge 500, as even old rides are now effected.

Anybody know why there was the sudden change, or a fix? I've read that there's a +/- zoom control on Garmin's Training Center, but I much prefer Garmin Connect otherwise, which doesn't have a +/- zoom that I'm seeing.

Thanks.
  • I've noticed that the scaling of the graphs have changed over time, and I agree that they often wind up with scales that are not very useful. Unfortunately, there's no way of changing the scale right now.

I recently did a run when my pace varied from about 8:00 to 9:30 minutes per mile on a very hilly course. The pace chart on GC scaled from 0:00 to 30:00 minutes per mile, which resulted in my pace looking like a flat line, which wasn't very useful.
  • Bump here

I want to put a bump on this thread. Anyone figure out a solution to this yet (e.g., cropping the first 4 seconds of an event)? My 60 minute miles have been rendering the rest of the plot pretty much useless.
  • To clarify, my question is specific to the "player" view, not "details" or "splits", where you can simply highlight and select the area of interest.

Having the same problem: On one of my regular runs with a min elevation of -6m and a max of 38m, the y-axis goes between -300m and 100m which is quite silly of course and makes the graph rather useluess. Oddly, this only seems to happen on long runs. On runs less than 10k, the scale seems more appopriate (though still too wide for my personal taste).

The other day I was playing around with viewing data in metric as opposed to statue on GC. I noticed the elevation graph was scaled differently when viewed in metric and was almost useless, same result for 'statue uk'. I'm not proposing this as a solution, but if you change your settings to 'statue' does the graph look better to you also?
